The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $85,000.

Descripción 

Cathedral is currently seeking an Upper School Spanish Teacher (Grades 5-8). The Upper School Spanish Teacher (Grades 5-8) is a 10-month, in-person role with a start date of late August 2024. 

The Upper School Spanish Teacher (Grades 5-8) reports directly to the Head of Upper School and is an integral member of the Upper School team and World Language department at The Cathedral School of St. John the Divine. 

Teacher Responsibilities

  • Teaches four different sections of Spanish in grades 5 through 8
  • Develops students’ Spanish reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills
  • Plans lessons, units, and projects using backward-design frameworks
  • Proctors/teaches an elective period in the Upper School

Requisitos 

Candidates must have at least two years of teaching experience as a Spanish teacher working with middle school-aged students. Fluency or near fluency in Spanish is required. A Bachelor’s degree is required. A Master’s degree is preferred.
